How do I mark an expense as paid in QBO?

Buildwise marks an expense as paid when it has a payment date and a payment method. Which fields you fill in depends on how, and whether, the expense was paid.

Point-of-purchase expenses

For expenses paid on the spot by credit card or cash, enter the payment date and the payment method.

Paid without a linked card

If you or an employee paid without a credit card that's linked in your QBO file, leave the payment date and payment method blank.

Trade bills you've already paid

If you're entering a trade bill that's already paid, enter the payment date and the payment method. When you sync from Buildwise to QBO, Buildwise creates the bill and the bill payment in one step.

Trade bills you haven't paid yet

If you haven't paid the trade bill, enter the invoice number and the due date instead before you sync. The bill will land on the open accounts payable (A/P) report in QBO.
