Add & Invite a Team Member

Overview

Owners and Administrators can add new team members to Buildwise and send an invitation email to the new Team member. 

Invitation links are time-sensitive. Team members have three days to click the link and set up their account in Buildwise. After three days, the invited team member receives an error message and must be re-invited by the account Owner or an Administrator. 

In this article, we’ll cover how to invite a team member and resend an invite.

Invite a Team member

Click Settings at the bottom of the left sidebar. If the left sidebar is collapsed, click the gear icon. 

The Settings page displays. Scroll to the team members section. Any existing team members are displayed. 

Scroll to the bottom of the team members section and click Add New team member

A new row displays. Enter the following information: 

Full Name The first and last name of the new team member. 
Role

Use the dropdown to select a team member's role. The role controls the access and permissions a team member has in Buildwise. Refer to the Role Permissions Matrix.

Four roles are available: 

  • Owner – The Owner of the Buildwise account. The owner’s account cannot be reassigned or changed. Full system access via desktop or mobile app.
  • Administrator – Typically a co-founder, general manager, or team member. Full system access via desktop or mobile app.
  • Manager – Team member who runs projects. Access to Projects and Reports via desktop or mobile app.
  • Team member – Track time and capture receipts on existing projects via mobile app only.
Position Use the dropdown to select the team member's job title. Refer to the article Add a Team Position.
Pay Rate Click to enter the fully burdened pay rate for the team member. This is a required field. Refer to the article Team Member Pay Rate and Charge Rates
Charge Rate Click to enter the rate you will charge a client for the team member’s work. This only applies to cost-plus projects. Refer to the article Team Member Pay Rate and Charge Rates.
Email This is the email associated with their Buildwise account and where the invitation link is sent.
Phone Enter the team member's area code and phone number. 
Order If needed, adjust the order. The order in which the team member is listed on the Settings page is the order in which they display in the Employee dropdowns for expenses. 

Click Send invite

The system sends an invitation email to the new Team member, who will follow the steps to sign up for Buildwise and log in. 

Resend a team member Invite

If a team member’s invitation link has expired, you can resend the invite. The new link also lasts three days.

In the Status column, click Resend invite

The system sends an invitation email to the new team member.
