Edit a Team Member

Overview

Owners and Administrators can update a Team Member’s information at any time. Changes are saved automatically. Note: The Owner of an account cannot be changed.

Click Settings at the bottom of the left sidebar. If the left sidebar is collapsed, click the gear icon.

The Settings page displays. Scroll to the Members section.

Choose what you would like to update from the options below:

Update Contact Information

Name

Click in the Full Name field to update a team member’s name.

Email

Click in the Email field and enter the updated information. Buildwise sends a notification email to the new address that their email was updated.

Phone

Click in the Phone field and enter the new number.

Change Team Member Role

Roles determine the level of access the team member has within Buildwise. Note: The Owner of an account cannot be changed. Refer to Role Permissions Matrix

Click on the Role dropdown and select the desired role.

Change Team Member Position

Click on the Position dropdown and select the desired position (job title). To add a new Position, refer to the article Add a Team Position.

Change Pay and Charge Rates

Click in the Pay Rate $ and Charge Rate $ fields to update the amounts. Refer to the article Team Member Pay and Charge Rates.

  • Pay Rate $ – The fully burdened pay rate for the team member
  • Chart Rate $ – The rate you charge a client for the team member’s work

Reorder Team Members

The order in which members are listed on the Settings page is the order they display in the Employee dropdowns for expenses. You can adjust that order at any time.

There are two arrows to the right of each member. The up arrow moves a member up in the order, and the down arrow moves it lower.

Archived Members

You cannot change the order of archived members; however, archived members do not display in dropdowns for active projects. For more information on archiving and unarchiving members, refer to the article Archive-Unarchive a Team Member
