Archive-Unarchive a Team Member
Overview
Archiving a Team Member hides them from displaying in Employee dropdowns for new projects. Owners and Administrators can archive Team Members; however, Owners cannot be archived.
In this article, we’ll go over how to archive and unarchive a team member.
Archive a Team Member
Click Settings at the bottom of the left sidebar. If the left sidebar is collapsed, click the gear icon.
The Settings page displays. Scroll to the Members section.
Find the team member you want to archive and click the Archive checkbox to the far right.
Click OK to confirm you want to archive the team member.
- Archived team members do not display in Company Settings > Team > Members when the Show Archived toggle is off.
- Archived team members do not display in Project Settings > Project > Overview > Members for new projects created.
- Records for archived team members still show in past projects they were a part of, but these records are not editable.
- For example, if you archived John Smith in December 2023, he does not appear as an option in your new February 2024 project. You cannot link an expense in your new project to John Smith. However, you can still go back and view past expenses tied to the member John Smith.
- If an archived team member has records only in inactive projects, they will not populate the Employee tab in the Labor report unless a specific inactive project is selected.
Unarchive a Team Member
You can unarchive members and have them display on active projects again.
Go to the top of the Members section > Show Archived toggle and click on the switch to the right.
Find the team member you want to unarchive and uncheck the Archived checkbox. The member is now available in dropdowns for active projects.
