How do I add a large new scope to an existing project?

When a client asks for a big new scope on a job you're already building, like a new phase, keep it in the same project. Your team tracks time in one place, and all of the expenses stay in one project.

Here are the steps to follow:

1

Build the new scope as an estimate

In the same project, build the new scope as an estimate and send it to your client to review. Your client can review it the same way. Because the project already has an approved estimate, the Approve and Decline buttons do not show, so your client cannot sign this one in Buildwise.

Create Estimate on the project Estimates tab
2

Add it as a change order once approved

If your client approves it, add the new scope as a change order in that same project. See Create a Change Order if you need a refresher.

You can't convert an estimate to a change order yet

Right now, Buildwise can't turn an estimate into a change order. Once your client approves the new scope, enter it as a new change order.
